The S.A.L.T. & LIGHT (Student Action Leadership Team & Leaders Involving God’s Hidden Talents) teams are leadership teams committed to developing the servant-leadership skills of our teens and allow parents to take part in the development of these skills by working with the teens side-by-side. The development of these skills then motivates each of us to serve others by using the skills in service to the Lord in a number of ways. The S.A.L.T. team is made up of 7th-12th grade teens that are committed to serving the Lord through whatever talents with which He has blessed them. The LIGHT team consists of parents and adults who have a desire to help our teens use their talents in ministry. This is done by serving alongside them in a ministry team. We have provided our team members with several possibilities to involve their talents. Below are the possible ministry teams that you can become a part of (See attached “Ministry Team Explanation Sheet” for more details):
The S.A.L.T. & LIGHT teams will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. On the second Tuesday of every month the following ministry teams will meet:
On the fourth Tuesday of every month the following ministry teams will meet:
There are three reasons we have split the teams into two nights of meetings: 1) To cut down on the number of ministry teams meeting at any one time in order to allow the Youth & Family Ministers time to visit each team for training, equipping and advising; 2) to allow for possible two-team S.A.L.T. & LIGHT members; and 3) to cut down on the number of meetings one might have to attend as a commitment to the leadership teams. This will provide more opportunity to team members to meet outside of scheduled meeting times. For this experience to be a positive one, anyone seeking to be a part of the S.A.L.T. & LIGHT teams will need to consider the following requirements, then fill out and sign the application form (see “Servant-Leader Application” attached to this packet). REQUIREMENTS:
We understand that everyone has many commitments that they must honor. We are always understanding of those commitments and also to illnesses, deaths, etc. However, we feel that it is important to emphasize the level of commitment Christ calls us to in service to Him. In actuality, our list requirements are minimal compared to the commitment Christ has called us to. Prayerfully, this commitment will bring us into a closer relationship with Christ, encourage us to share our faith, and take us to the next level in our commitment to Him. FOR MORE INFORMATION AND A DETAILED LIST OF ALL MINISTRIES, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH JEREMY OR PHIL. May the Lord guide us through His Spirit as we strive to be His Christians In Action! |
