Houston Mission Trip 2012
DATES: July 1-7
DESTINATION: Impact Church of Christ, Houston, Texas
COST: $400 to be raised by teen
WHAT: We arrive in Houston on a Saturday night. We will attend church services on Sunday morning and will help out with children’s Bible classes at the Impact Church of Christ. Following the services on Sunday we will help serve the “fellowship meal” that is served every Sunday to members of the congregation and many of Houston’s homeless population. Over the course of the next week, we will put on a special type of VBS for Houston’s inner-city children. Our main focus will be building relationships with the children, encouraging them spiritually, and showering them with the love of Jesus. We learn what it means to be empty of ourselves and full of Christ.
GET STARTED: Sign up on the Youth Board or Youth Web Site if you plan to go. Next, you will need to attend the General Information Meeting, Sunday, January 15 3pm where you will pick up your Memory verses to study. Your memory verse test, application, and $50 deposit will all be due Sunday, February 5 immediately after class on Sunday morning! Finally, you will need to set up an interview with Jeremy as the final step to this process.
