LIFE GROUPS
LIFE GROUPS are small groups (made up of Senior High teens) that will meet together in homes for Bible Studies and Christian fellowship.  Home Bible studies are not new.  Acts 5:42 says, “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ (NIV).”  As the believers needed to grow in their new faith, home Bible studies met their needs, as well as serving as a means to introduce new people to the Christian faith.  During later times of persecution, meeting in homes became the primary method of passing on Bible knowledge.  Christians throughout the world still use this approach when under persecution and as a way to build up believers.

OUR PURPOSE

So, what is the purpose for Life Groups?  Although the purpose of each Life Group will somewhat be determined by each particular group, the following is a list of reasons for why we have Life Groups:

¨       To help our teens grow spiritually in their relationship with God and to grow in their relationships with other Christians teens in the atmosphere of a home setting.  This setting allows for:

1.    A non-threatening atmosphere where teens feel free to express themselves in the presence of a community of believers.

2.    A place that is comfortable and other than the church building.

3.    A place where they can call “a second home” of sorts.  Where love and acceptance is readily available.

4.    A place where “everybody knows your name”.

¨       To provide a place where teens feel that they can share their struggles, joys, etc. in a safe environment.

¨       To provide a place where our teens will feel comfortable inviting their friends to come and learn about the love of God.  Life Groups are intended to also serve an evangelistic purpose.

¨       To provide a place where good Christian fellowship can take place.
