In the past, it was said "you need one adult for every five teens" to effectively touch the life of a teen. But more recent research says that "you need five ADULTS for every one teen" to effectively touch the life of a teen! Our core group approach helps us with that goal: the teen is being ministered to by their two core group leaders and the youth minister, and most importantly, their parents! We really encourage our parents to get involved.

 

We also want to support you with the questions and challenges that come up during the teen years. So we have a Parental Support team in place. These are "seasoned" parents who are available for you when you have questions and need help.

Parents are always welcome to attend our events. In fact, we really WANT you to. Now, your child may say they don't want you to, but you can say you are there for the OTHER teens too. You may find that your child's friends often really enjoy being around you and you can minister to them as well.

 

Here are some other ways we need parents:

  • Bus Drivers
  • Chaperones
  • Teachers (Junior High and Senior High)
  • Artists/Painters/ Decorators
  • Provide content for our website
  • Marketing/Promoting what we are going to do and what we have done.
  • Occasional Food Prep
  • Media Guru
  • Take Care of Each Other. PHILLIPIANS 2
  • Take Care of Your Teens CORE Leaders.
  • Encourage your Teens to be a part of this Youth Group.
  • Come to Events. You are encouraged to come and be a part of anything we do.
  • If you have a problem with something or someone (like me) come talk to me. Please!!!!!
There are events that we do not put on the schedule unless a parent steps up to coordinate them (though we can advise):
